Double deck equipment deliveries for JonRie

USA based deck equipment manufacturer JonRie has delivered a second set of winches for Seabulk Towing’s four new ASD tugs.

The second of the four vessels, Aura, was delivered from Great Lakes Shipyard at Cleveland in Ohio USA. Sister vessel Atlas will be delivered some time mid-summer.

The new tug is a Jensen designed ASD complete with a JonRie Series 220 Double Drum winch on the bow with a capacity of 150m of 60mm line, a line pull of 15 tonnes, a line speed of 30m/minute and a brake with a capacity of 200 tonnes.

The winch features JonRie’s hands-free foot control, active heave compensation and a tension readout system for every drum. On the stern is a JonRie Series 421 Capstan with a line speed of 10m/minute and a line pull of 10 tonnes.

JonRie has also delivered the first of two ship sets of deck equipment to Seabulk Towing from Washburn & Doughty of East Boothbay in Maine USA. The new tugs (the first named Athena) are a Washburn & Doughty designed ASD complete with a JonRie Series 220 double drum winch on the bow with a capacity of 150m of 60 mm line, a line pull of 15 tonnes, a line speed of 30m/minute and a brake with a capacity of 200 tonnes.

The winch again features JonRie’s hands-free foot control, active heave compensation and a tension readout system for every drum. On the stern is a JonRie Series 512 Towing Winch with a capacity of 650m of 60mm line, a line pull of 50 tonnes, a line speed of 10m/minute and a brake with capacity of 150 tonnes. The winch features JonRie’s independent level wind and gypsy head. Sister tug Apollo will be delivered later this summer.
