Heila Cranes and Double D merge
Heila Cranes and Double D marine equipment BV have merged, with Heila focusing entirely on the production of marine and offshore cranes.
Because Double D’s expertise concerns the commissioning of new cranes, installing accessories and carrying out repairs and service, the company is now the worldwide after-sales service centre for Helia.
Heila Cranes was founded in the 1970s and is based in Reggio Emilia in Italy. The company produces marine and offshore cranes, both standard and custom built, which are principally used on tugs, workboat, and cargo ships, ferries, pipe and cable-laying vessels and military ships. In the dredging sector, the cranes are generally used for anchor handling and handling of floating pipelines.
Double D will also become the sales arm of Helia’s marine and offshore cranes in Northern Europe and the Benelux. In addition Double D also supplies a complete range of marine winch systems for hoisting and towing, hydraulic pump units, grabbers and remote control systems.
