Hometowners in multi-launch mode at Europort
Rotterdam based Alphatron Marine BV will make a short journey to Europort 2009, where its usual showcase of navigation and communication equipment will be enhanced by a number of innovative new products.
The company will introduce its own AIS, AlphaIAIS, a compact unit made in Sweden and available as a dedicated operation unit or as an integrated system. It promises a concept not seen before on river radar systems. Also being seen for the first time at Europort is the new Alphamulticourse, a product combining Seapilot, Riverpilot and a joystick system with position hold facility into one integrated system. Designed for river or sea going workboats such as patrol vessels, ferries or wind farm service vessels, the Alphamulticourse is an easy to operate system which enables control by only one joystick. The system will save fuel and ease operations on a variety of vessels.
Offshore is a very demanding sector in the marine industry, where human/machine interfacing is to safeguarding stress free working conditions. At Euiroport Alphatron Marine will introduce the Alphacommand, a multifunctional control chair which, in addition to delivering Norsap quality, has been engineered with fully integrated armrest housings. Each armrest includes a 15 inch TFT touch screen monitor for DP, CCTV, slave conning, radar or another freely selectable function.
The chair offers all relevant functions within an arm length, such as autopilot, window wiper control, engine start/stop button, bow thruster control and a multifunctional Alphaline MFC TFT panel enabling switching between TFT screens, hydro acoustic devices, Cyscan, etc.
Alphatron Marine has become a market leader in the inland navigation sector, focussing typically on a Rhine/Donau orientated market. The Alphatron/JRC river radar is known for its reliability and more than 3,000 radars have been installed since the introduction of the Alphatron/JRC river radar JMA 608 in 1998.
Europort 2009 will be another milestone for the partnership between JRC and Alphatron, as the JMA 610 will be introduced. This new river radar combines radar and AIS into one integrated system. Various other features incorporated into this new product include a unique photo capture feature never before seen on such equipment.
Installing an ECDIS is one thing but toservice its customers, Alphatron Marine also offers a fully equipped mission simulator as well as a training college in order to comply with the latest IMO rules for mandatory ECDIS training at a competitive price level.
