Lightweight winch for windfarm workboats
The new AAW-150 anchor winch has been specially designed by Hercules Hydraulics for offshore wind farm vessels and is built almost entirely from non-ferrous materials, keeping the weight down to less than 250 kg.
Suitable for vessels with an equipment number up to 150, it complements the company’s existing range of small aluminium winches. This includes the AAW-110 and AAW-90 (for equipment numbers up to 110 and 90 respectively).
These lightweight hydraulic winches can also be powered by a system designed, supplied and installed by Hercules. There is an option which allows the hydraulic spooling device to simply be removed when not required and fleeting angles allow.
The winch is one of a number of hydraulic products designed and manufactured by Hercules at their premises in Devon, and has been released along with a heavy duty bow thruster, also for the workboat market.
