SAM sets sites on Europort

SAM Electronics Nederland, the Rotterdam based Dutch subsidiary of SAM Electronics, is featuring extensive ranges of automation, navigation, communications and other equipment at Europort.

Key exhibits comprise a NACOS Platinum bridge control assembly with networked system architecture which has now been extended to include a dynamic positioning capability, claiming to be the world’s first fully integrated bridge system providing inclusive automation, navigation, communications and DP functions.

Its increased functionality and extended screen displays will be simulated in various operational modes together with a stand alone all-purpose Multipilot console for combined IP radar and ECDIS operation. Other displays include a compact EcdisPilot Basic console specifically designed for retrofit applications and compatible with all main chart databases while providing overlays of ARPA and AIS targets.

Communication exhibits include SAM’s recently expanded series of KVH Sat-TV and VSAT terminals for a wide range of onboard internet, email and leisure applications, variants of which have been installed aboard over 250 vessels while also being suitable for offshore platform cabins. In addition to availability of comparable hardware and airtime from other leading suppliers, a comprehensive range of GMDSS items will also be shown together with new generation SARTs and float-free EPIRBs.
