The UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has issued its report on the capsize and sinking of the Dutch tug ‘Ijsselstroom ‘ at Peterhead in June 2009. The incident, and the resulting MAIB report, is yet another reminder of the inherent dangers still present in the operation of conventional screw tugs under certain conditions.
