Response to major ship fire in Scotland

Recent Lloyd’s Forms for SMIT Salvage included a major firefighting operation in UK waters, involving the 100,000 DWT self discharging bulk carrier Yeoman Bontrup.

The fire spread to the accommodation block and the top of the engine room and an explosion resulted, caused by liquids detonating in the steering compartment.
