Record breaking order book for Boskalis

Boskalis has had, according to the company, a “good third quarter”, with the order book increasing in recent months to stand at a new record high of €4bn.

On the dredging side, Boskalis has won some large contracts this year, including a number in India and eastern Africa. All in all, dredging activities have risen just slightly in the second half of the year compared to mid-2012. Maritime infrastructure activities, which gain by the company’s 40% stake in Archirodon, have also seen several large new contracts. An increase in the Terminal Services’ order book is mostly due to Boskalis’ 50% stake in Smit Lamnalco and its new contract in Iraq.

Boskalis is now expecting net profit to be around the €230m to €245m mark when the final figures are announced for 2012.
