Vessel checks reveal multiple safety concerns

IMCA Annual report

Analysis of 1,600 inspection reports has revealed a lack of safety checks and improper procedures in around a tenth of vessels.

Among other findings, 12% did not inspect pilot ladders before use; 10% had no procedures on chemical and flammable materials handling; and 5% did not carry sufficient medical supplies.
