Seatronics-OceanWise global agreement
Hampshire-based OceanWise, which specialises in all aspects of marine environmental data acquisition and management, has appointed rental and sales organisation Seatronics of Aberdeen as worldwide distributor for its range of oceanographic software and services.
The deal combines Seatronics’s instrumentation capability with OceanWise’s portfolio of data telemetry, storage and publishing software services.
The arrangement coincides with the two companies being jointly awarded a contract by Ras al-Khaimah Port in the UAE for supply and support of a tidal monitoring telemetry and display system comprising six Valeport TideMasters and Walter Level Radars and OceanWise’s data telemetry equipment and associated services. The equipment will be housed in a protective enclosure and together with other sensors, will form the basis of a maritime information infrastructure for the port with user access mainly via GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) using standard tablets and smart phones.
