The company will manage, operate and maintain around 110 vessels used in both port and deepwater operations, making Serco Denholm one of the UK’s largest marine service providers. A package of over 30 new vessels is planned, the majority of which will be constructed by the Netherlands based Damen Shipyards Group. Included are tugs, pilot boats and other craft that will be put into service during the contract. 

In addition, around 240 staff and the services of the Royal Maritime Auxiliary Service will transfer to Serco Denholm in April 2008. Included in those services are the provision and maintenance of buoys and moorings, support to deepwater training services and marine support to the Kyle of Lochalsh British Underwater Test and Evaluation Centre ranges.

Serco Denholm will be supported by The Briggs Group, which will provide buoys and mooring support from their base in Burntisland on the Firth of Forth as work transfers from HM Mooring Depot at Pembroke Dock.
