AISTER delivers a mussel farming and harvesting vessel to the Belgian company FLEETCO NV, COLRUYT Group.

The Colruyt Group, one of Belgium’s leading companies in the food sector, has trusted the Galician shipyard AISTER for the construction of their new sea farmer

The Galician shipyard, specialized in naval aluminium and a benchmark in its sector, continues to achieve new milestones. The Belgian company COLRUYT, through its shipping company FLEETCO NV, has chosen AISTER for the production of its new farming and harvesting vessel, which was delivered on May 17th in the Ría de Vigo.

This vessel is specifically designed for harvesting and cultivation operations of mussels in open sea long-line systems.

With a length of 24.3 meters and a beam of 7 meters, the boat is equipped with two Volvo engines, each offering 425 HP, and its main propulsion is diesel-hydraulic, reaching a maximum speed of 14 knots.

The propulsion system layout includes space for lithium batteries to allow future modification to electric-hydraulic propulsion, enabling it to become a zero-emissions boat.

Its V-shaped aluminium hull and shallow draft provide the vessel with outstanding manoeuvrability and operation in shallow waters, thanks to its foldable hydraulic thrusters.

This vessel, named MOULES FRITES, can accommodate up to 8 crew members, features a kitchen and dining area for six people, and has a changing room with day head.

The wheelhouse offers an automation system that allows monitoring and controlling all services and machinery from the bridge, with a 360º view, enhancing safety and performance while maximizing ease of work for the crew.

The boat has a spacious deck that allows different machinery configurations for processing, also providing a large cargo volume of around 15 tons, along with a crane capable of lifting one ton at 10 meters and a 700 kgf thrust hydraulic bow thruster.

With the delivery of this vessel, AISTER, the leading naval aluminium shipyard in Moaña, reaches a total of 104 completed yard numbers, with more currently under construction.
