Seawork exhibitor Star International has added lifeboat, davit, winch, and release hook servicing to its marine safety offering, following the acquisition of a specialist davit servicing provider.
The move broadens the company’s onboard inspection and maintenance support, which already includes fire-fighting equipment, life-saving appliances, refrigeration/HVAC systems, and marine evacuation systems.
For vessel operators, the development creates an opportunity to reduce contractor overlap by coordinating more safety-critical servicing work through a single provider. This can help simplify scheduling, reduce duplicated call-outs, and minimise disruption during port calls and maintenance periods.
Star’s certified engineers carry out annual and five-year inspections in accordance with SOLAS requirements and class and flag approvals. Services include operational testing, release hook inspections, wire rope examination, load testing, and onboard repairs where required.
With technical teams based in Wirral, Southampton, Falmouth, and Glasgow, Star supports commercial and offshore operators throughout the UK with 24/7 response capability.
