In demanding commercial marine environments, communication reliability and operational awareness are essential.
From workboats and pilot vessels to survey craft and support vessels, crews require equipment that can perform continuously while simplifying onboard systems. The em-trak X100 has been developed to meet those requirements, combining multiple critical functions into a single, rugged marine-grade unit.
em-trak’s new flagship product, the X100 integrates a certified Class D VHF/DSC radio, a commercially certified AIS Class B 5W transceiver and CONNECT-X wireless control technology into a single, rugged waterproof unit. By consolidating these capabilities into a single platform, the X100 reduces the number of onboard devices, cables and antenna runs required, making it suitable for both vessel retrofits and new-build specifications.
At the core of the system is a professional-grade communication platform designed for continuous operation. Features include ClearWave digital audio processing, developed to deliver clear communications in high-noise environments, alongside multi-channel scanning, tri-watch functionality and a loudhailer/PA system to support deck operations.
Situational awareness is further enhanced through the integrated AIS capability. The AIS Class B 5W transceiver provides vessel tracking and identification functions, while collision avoidance features include Closest Point of Approach (CPA) alerts and one touch distress calling. A silent mode is also available where operational discretion is required.

A key differentiator of the X100 is CONNECT-X, which extends communication and monitoring beyond the helm station. Through connected smartphones and smartwatches, crew members can access wireless command microphone functionality while monitoring AIS and DSC information from anywhere onboard. This vessel-wide connectivity helps ensure that critical information is available to those who need it, when they need it.
Safety remains a central focus of the platform. The X100 incorporates integrated man overboard (MOB) alert functionality, providing immediate awareness across the vessel in the event of an incident. The system continuously monitors connected MOB devices if an alert is triggered, notifications are instantly displayed on the X100 and distributed to connected smartphones and smartwatches via CONNECT-X. Crew members receive the last known location, bearing and approximate distance to the casualty, helping support a rapid and coordinated response.
With integrated GPS, NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability, a zero-loss antenna splitter and robust waterproof construction, the X100 has been designed to bring communications, awareness and safety together in a single solution.
