Acteon, through its marine foundations business line, Menck, has won a major deal to provide advanced pile-driving equipment and services for the construction of the Hornsea 3 offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea.
Located approximately 160 km off Yorkshire and 120 km off Norfolk, Hornsea 3 is a cornerstone project in the UK’s push towards net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Once operational, it will generate 2.9 GW of renewable energy – enough to power over three million homes – and represents an £8.5 billion investment in UK energy resilience.
“We are proud to support the Hornsea 3 project with our proven technology,” said Tim Erdmann, head of projects at Menck.
“This development is a significant milestone for UK energy security and aligns with the government’s ambitious climate and clean-energy goals.”
As part of the contract, Menck will supply its powerful MHU4400S hydraulic hammer, along with a pile sleeve and anvil, capable of driving monopiles up to 11 metres in diameter.
The MHU4400S is designed for optimal performance in demanding offshore environments and is suitable for both large and small pile installations.

When complete Hornsea 3 will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
