Superyacht giant Sunseeker has denied a media report claiming that the company’s CEO, Andreas Frabetti, had stepped down ‘with immediate effect’.
“Andrea Frabetti remains the CEO of Sunseeker International Ltd. He is currently on a pre-arranged period of leave,” a spokesman told Maritime Journal. “Whilst Andrea is on leave the business continues to operate as usual under the management of the Senior Leadership Team.”

The media report claimed that the company was seeking a replacement for Frabetti, but this was not confirmed or denied by the spokesman.
The company, which was sold by the Chinese former owner Dalian Wanda Group to Miami-based investment firm Lionheart Capital and the Italian firm Orienta Capital Partners just over a year ago, announced plans to make 200 job cuts in June this year following a review of operations and decision to improve efficiency.
Just a few days ago, the company secured fresh investment as part of the company’s restructure.
“Our investors remain confident in Sunseeker International and we secured fresh capital investment from Cheyne Capital and Cross Ocean Partners, providing the platform for our long-term future success,” the spokesman added. “Together, we continue to execute our business strategy and invest in new product development including the Superyacht strategy.”
Next year’s Seawork commercial marine exhibition and conference will host a Superyacht Pavilion for the first time. The event will be held at Southampton’s Mayflower Park from June 9-11 2026.
