“ECOCAT ZERO-EMISSION SOLAR”

ECOCAT is an aluminum solar-powered catamaran passenger ferry launched in 2018 by Metaltec Naval in Cantabria, Spain, with an integrated electric/battery propulsion system from Torqeedo of Starnberg, Germany.

JAMES WALKER

James started Walker Marine Design Limited back in 2014, and since its incorporation has successfully delivered the complete design packages for over 15 commercial new build projects, ranging from Wind Farm Support Vessels, Cargo Vessels and Steel Multicats. For a young family man, James’s achievements are inspiring and something to be proud of.

Throughout his 36 years of career in manufacturing life jackets under the LALIZAS brand, he has shown outstanding vision towards the growth of the brand. A small local company located right next to the Port of Piraeus that has grown over the years to become a worldwide organisation with commercial presence in more than 129 countries.

“THAMES TIDEWAY TUNNEL PROJECT”

Red7Marine has been involved with the £4bn Thames Tideway Tunnel project since the beginning of the on-site works. Its jack up and flat top barges were deployed on the initial site investigation works in 2011 and began supporting the enabling works in 2015.

YOUNG PERSON’S DEVELOPMENT AWARD WINNER:
ROBERT DEAKES

“CQC/BIDEFORD COLLEGE”

Robert joined CQC on an apprenticeship 3 years ago and is now responsible for the manufacture of every single Fibrelight product (eg man overboard recovery cradles & emergency ladders). Robert’s progress over the last three years has been exceptional (as well as successfully completing his apprenticeship) and is a fantastic role-model for any apprentice. He has become crucial to the business and this nomination is recognition of the esteem in which he is held; it will also give him tremendous confidence in his abilities and will hopefully inspire him to achieve great things in the industry.
