A key figure in the industry, Mark has worked as Secretary and subsequently the Chief Executive of the National Workboat Association for over 8 years. Through his drive and commitment, he has worked tirelessly to make the industry a safer place, supporting the development of safety standards through regular safety forums and initiatives.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNER:
JOHN BONAFOUX

John’s lifetime commitment and dedication to BMT has seen the company, which started with two employees, grow to an over 125 strong team. John has had a long and distinguished career within the ship-building and design industry,and his impact, ethos and drive to always move forward will be felt at BMT for many years to come.

KAYMAC MARINE AND CIVIL ENGINEERING

“SWANSEA TAWE BARRAGE PROJECT”

The Kaymac Swansea Tawe Barrage project deployed a wide range of skills and services in adverse conditions, which were delivered on time and in budget. The project is a clear achievement and shows the depth of marine civil engineering offerings.

LAUREN HOUNSOME

With a clear vision for a career afloat, the judges were impressed with Lauren’s dedication and commitment to developing both her career and education within the maritime industry. Lauren’s plan is to use her bursary to support her studies at South Shields Marine School.
